Nobody likes to feel powerless, right? With the 800W Power Inverter by Coleman you don`t have to. This is a handy neat thing for your car, SUV, boat, wherever you need 110 volt AC household power. Your 12 volt DC power port will never be the same! It comes with a sturdy storage case, so it will always be there for you. Power and peace of mind surely make an attractive combination, don`t you think?

Now, if you shop around you know this one retails for $50.00 and that does not even include shipping… Check it out!

Thing Fling says `Power to the People` and flings you one for only $18.95.

Nice price, But I wouldn't want to pop my hood while attempting to drive to charge my cellphone.

Could be nice for tailgating parties, as long as nobody drops food in your engine.

I don't know much about inverters, except that it would be really handy on trips, but... from what the above poster said...
is the only way to use it, is to have direct connection to the battery?? Is there any 12-volt DC attachment/adapter?

I don't think you would want to use your cars internal wiring if your actually pulling 800W. Krispy internal car wiring is hard to replace. That being said if your just looking to charge a cell phone or laptop there are inverters better suited to your needs that will plug in to your car's 12V outlet. Additionally these other inverters are cheeper if you look in the right places at the right times. Maybe the king could locate some if you ask him real nice.
On the other hand if your trying to power a lightbulb, sterio and a few water pumps in your solar/wind powered, off grid greenhouse/garden shed, this might just be the ticket.

You could go to Radio Shack and get a power port adapter that would hook up to the terminals on the inverter, but then you need to make sure you limit the out put of the inverter to about 150 watts. I have one that does 300 peak, and it came with both direct battery connection cables, and the power port one. If you had a 10 AMP fuse in the line you'd be fine with the power port I think. Though you'd have to check the vehicle specs to be sure of what it's max draw is. This is a really nice price for one of these.

The cables can be changed to lug terminals to bolt on to the starter solonoid [where the main cable from battery goes].
I just got one. enough power for a coffee pot in my van, or to run hedge trimmer far from outlets.

take this, a spare car battery, and the hedge clipper Way out in the backyard. A ittle trailer behind your riding mower.

battery cables are removable, when looked at again this afternoon. Simple matter to have an auto shop to install with cales run into engine bay.

Here is a Picture of the two Cables (Cigarette lighter Adapter & Car battery hook up)
As you can see the holes at the end are for screwing and un-screwing the adapters.

Does this coleman come with the cigarette lighter cable? If not do you know a place that sells it seperately?

would be best to have a seperate power outlet mounted in car with heavy wires to battery, as at full boogie, like running a mini fridge or coffee pot, the power draw will be 67 amperes of 12 volt power. do the math.

I agree for serious tail gaiting or if you know your going to have stuff like a small fridge or tv mounted in car perminatley they get get a heavy duty car mounted one. But for this one i say using it every now and then for small stuff yes. I keep mine in my truck in my Emergency Box so if something happens I have this.

*** DANGER ****

I'm having a problem with the product I ordered from FlingThing.
They refer me to the MFR website.
All the links are broken and all their phone numbers are disconnected.

FlingThing tells me "Unfortunately, we were unable to reach the person
from the manufacturer company as he no longer works there,
and this item was part of a closeout deal."

So, basically, I'm humped!

Don't buy anything from these guys. They sell closeout crap that breaks
and there's no one to fix or perform warantee work on it.

Your statements do not seem to be correct or at least complete.

Number one, you are having a problem with a product and not with ThingFling. We have up until now complied to all our polices and even though you have agreed to the policies of the site which clearly state how we conduct our business, you believe your statements are correct.

You also did not mention the conditions of your complaint.
Item received on 08/21/2007 and the very first email to our help desk was on 12/18/2007.

So let's see, you waited more than 3 months to complain about an item and when the company decides to open an exception and help you by looking for the information that you have asked for even though your order does not fit within our policies this is how you respond? Shame on you

ThingFling has walked through some rough territory to prove to we are a legit and honest company.

Since I have to be here to explain the story that you have told our community using only the side that you feel is correct I would also like to ask you to avoid Spam on our forums. We are very liberal about that, but this is very bad practice.

Now that we all understand what actually happened we can all have an educated opinion about it.

You needn't worry about it being too powerful. What ever you hook to it will only draw the power it needs. For example if you hook a 60W bulb to this its not going to blow the bulb. The bulb will only draw the 60W. The only worries you should be having is with the size, price and apparently how it hooks to your car or voltage source. Yet the later can be changed easily with a soldering iorn and a can do attitude.

Well, I am in for one, will be putting this in the pickup and if it works right I will be saving a lot of money by not having to buy tanks of oxygen to use when I need to go out.
At $14 for a 3 hour tank of oxygen, instead, I will be able to use the Oxygen Concentrator that I use in the house, when on the road, and use the tanks only to leave the house and get into the pickup or in a store. I am on oxygen 24/7.
