I did not receive anything I can use or give to someone to use this time. I would have been happy if some of the disc protectors, dvd cases or maybe a flashlight had made it into my box. NO such luck, just outdated junk.
The only potentially useful item was a battery backup for a cordless phone is case the power goes out. Not that everyone does not have a cell phone available but it might prevent a missed call...maybe.
Here is the rest:
A wireless card for a laptop, because both of my laptops already have it built in. I do not know of any laptop that does not these days.
A docking station for a Phillips MP3 player. OK, Phillips makes MP3 players. Does anyone buy them?
A wireless brake light for a motorcycle. I do not understand why this was even manufactured. Since it connects to the brake system of the motorcycle, it could not be used for say, a bicycle.
A Phillips headphone to stereo cable. Maybe useful to someone that does not already have several cables from other BOCs and several wireless ways to stream music from an MP3 player. Not that I use any of them since the PC is right there anyway and has great speakers.
An Xbox online connection cable.
And my favorite, an empty speaker enclosure. I guess this was the items needed to push the weight over ten pounds. Nothing like a hunk of steel, particle board and carpet to add some needed weight to ensure you don't put anything potentially useful in the box.

Mine has a few things I might use but the package came with the bottom of the box open and stuff falling out so who know what I got that did not make it to me. I would do this again if the box had arrived sealed but because I do not know what I did not get, forget trying this again. Poor packaging or quality control on the shipping makes me less than interested in trying this again.

I personally could only use two things in my mystery box, a golf bag universal remote (which didn't work btw) and a fogless shaving mirror. Only thing I didn't like about the mirror is that the light is too low to be useful. Everything else was the usual stuff like cables, telezapper and other things. I won't be getting any MB above 10 either. I'm glad some people got some good stuff though.

Same as Ponagathos and Diana except I did have some styrofoam pieces scattered about the box I wouldn't consider this up to the King's standard. Hopefully, the King will redeem himself with week 3's mystery box!?!

I'm on the same page... I got more use out of my $3 mystery box. Maybe ebay will redeem this one...but I'm dissapointed. I mean, the mystery box IS a total crapshoot, any we all know this...but I thought that i would get SOMETHING slightly useful... I guess, if anything, I learned that phillips apparently makes an MP3 player, and the dock connection is infuriatingly close to that of an iPod.

Judging from what you got and from what everyone else got, I think I'd consider myself lucky that some of the stuff fell out. I'm just guessing that it wasn't an hdtv or an iPhone.

Why did you bother to create another seperate thread just to whine when you already did so in the appropriate what did you get thread? Have you people lost your minds?!?! Geeze, this thread is a testament to the fact that yoi really truly can't please everyone. was dissapointed with my week 1 box, though okay with thingfling because it's value was stil worth more than 30 dollars. But that said I seemed to have goten the bottom of the barrel box, as many others got week 1 boxes I would have loved. The week 2 boxes seem failry standardized, the contents much more up to date and much more valuable. Seriously I can see how you might not immediately need the stuff from week 2 for yourself, but to call it useless junk is ludicrous! If you NEEDED a 802.llG cardbus/PCMCIA card and went to your local bestbuy or whatever you most likely would pay $30 alone if not more for that Linksys card. Not ony that--The one included in this box is retail boxed AND shrin wrapped! And yes most new laptops come with built in mini-PCI wireless cards these days, but believe it or not, those are still an OPTIONAL add on for most systems when youare customizing your order. Not all prebuilt laptops come with the optional mini-PCI wireless card. And in addition, guess what? A lot of people still use and buy old laptops without wireless, not everyone goes for the new latest and greatest. Furthermore many people buy such linksys cards because they have a matching Linksys router and by having the two same brand, they gain the benefits of having the speedbooster feature, as well as the use of SES for one button simple setup. Thi is all just silly, it sounds like you all can't use this stuff, which is fine, it is the way it is. But to coplain that it's useless junk?? I guarantee you that if you post this stuff on craigslist saying free just pick up this useless crap, that it would all be gone by the end of the day. Of course if you were smarter you'd put it up on ebay and probably make your 30 back and I'd bet even more. For cryin out loud. I have no use for an car audio enclosure, nor do i ride a motorcycle and need a wireless brake system on my helmet. But all the same I can see the definite value of these items. That speaker enclosure looks way nice to me. There are some car audio nuts who probably will love that thing. So swear off these mystery boxes if it wasn't worth the gamble to you, but please stop calling this useless junk, you're kind of just thining about yourself and not what others would need. I bet if you sent an email to all your friends listing the contents of your box, quite a few things would get snatched up right away. Else make your money back on ebay. Else donte it to you local charity. Whatever you do don't dump it in the trash, you'd be losing out as well as others.

i was so angry at thingfling that I put up everything i got (almost everything - i'm holding on to the speaker case because... uh.... i will bet that i can't even give it away on freecycle) on ebay a few days ago - at rock bottom prices (below any other prices currrently offered on ebay) and buy now. not one thing has sold yet. I'll let y'all know if i even make back the $30.

I'll say it here too (see other thread about this mystery box) DONATE IT TO YOUR LOCAL ASPCA! The little guys (little fluffy critters) can use the money they make off of it from their thrift shop..and you'll get a nice hefty tax deduction (blank donation slip so you get to fill in the value of your donation)
Myster box = $30.00 Donation Value for tax deduction = $200.00+ The greatful look on all those homeless cats and dogs faces while eating the food your donation bought = Priceless
