I separated it to 2 boxes and here is what I got
Box 1 1 Altec Lansing Speaker 2 Philips phone + handset 3 VHS Tape rewinder 4 Cord Minder 5 Small Camera Case 6 Coax crimp tool
Box 2 1 Altec Lansing Speaker 2 Philips phone + handset 3 Plastic media holder 4 DS Lite charger 5 Philips crossover cable 6 Coby Headphones
That's it. I look at others post's and I see 10-14 items in their order of one box. I bought 2 boxes, so I should be looking at 20-28 items, and I only got 12. I understand I got the phone's which are nice, but equal should be equal. I bought a quantity of 2 and I feel that since they boxed it together, they shortchanged me on all the filler items.
What was the weight of the box? I just wonder if that was what they were going by as a 2 box standard, as obviously you didn't get as many items as one would expect from two boxes. It's curious too because if you ordered 2 week 3s I would've expected to see 2x week 3 items, like 2 x the cordless phone. You seem to have week 3 items mixed in with week 1 and 2 items. Anyway have you submitted a trouble ticket? I think if you clearly and calmly state your case (and especially if the boxes weight is under 20 pounds) that they will most likely come up with an arrangement for you.

Oh! My mistake you did get two times cordless phones! Hmm. Do you have a scale you can use? The item count may seem skimpy. but if the box actually does way 22 pounds, well the weight can't lie, and that i what they promised. Each box being guaranteed to be 10 pounds each. I would definitely check the weight if you can, I thin that is what makes or breaks your case.

I'm extremely disappointed with my box. Mostly junk, and the rest is either unusable or (worse) non-functioning. At first, I thought the phones might be a redeeming feature (as I was considering getting a wireless phone set, but when I opened the main (horribly battered) phone box, the base and phone were all scratched up, and someone had put some double-sided foam tape on it (I'm guessing it might have been a floor model?). I then tried out the second phone, and it is incapable of registering with the main unit. Essentially, I was sent two phones for which my time is best sent tossing them in the trash. True garbage . I would at least expect them to function. Here's what I got: useful: * RedDog microbead pillow (will use to restuff one of my son's toy animals) potentially useful, but non-functioning: * Philips DECT 225 phone plus extra headset not useful: * 8.5 min supersonic battery charger (I already bought the Monster chargers -- much nicer and more compact... plus they came with 4 batteries) * RCA video/audio cable * clip on light (looks like it would cost 25 cents in a dollar store) * single speaker shell/case (cheap, no-name made in China) for Mp3 player * Intec RFU adapter (for XBox) * USB to 30-pin adapter (for IPod shuffle) * Linksys Wireless-G notebook card (WPC54GR) -- these appear to be flooding on E-Bay, * countless numbers of them (1 bid at $10, but I'd be lucky to get that) * Altec Lansing XM3020 (lucky to get $5.00 on EBay) Add me to the list of "never again"'s. Although I think I'll probably stop checking out the site all together. If the "king" could replace the phones for me, then my faith might be restored. Otherwise... good bye. The Wren

Holy Jackpot! I think there's only two things in my box I can't use: XM3020 XM radio speaker (think a friend of mine can use) iPod shuffle adapter (Ok, can't use this. Hello eBay!) xMods body kit for RSX (donate or give away) Philips phone/answering machine/extra handset (woohoo! Old phone/answering machine is dying) Frame-a-lope picture frame/envelope (great for sending pics of our new kittens) Universal 800mA power inverter (nice to only need ONE instead of all the different ones) BIG smiley face pillow (of any pillow listed, probably my favorite) Lovely blue power squid (been wanting one for a while, but didn't want to spend the $20 or so they usually cost) Gadget sack with 2 compartments (will be fighting the wife for this one...) 2 sets of PSP screen protectors (I always buy big ones like this and cut down to size anyway) 3 beeners (mini carabiner/flashlights...I love flashlights...and mini carabiners) 1 neoglow (yay! another mini flashlight) Safety strobe (oddly, I'm working on a project where I needed another one of these, and this one looks exactly like the first one I bough from Hong Kong) Wow, what a load for $25! Thanks Fling! Glad I sucked it up and got this one!

The Wren Put a couple of AAA NMIH batteries in each of the phones and they work. Mine had no batteries. Ordered a 4 pack from batteries.com for under $8.00. As soon as they arrive the phones will be put in service. You can put some standard cells in to test, just don't put them in the charging base to avoid nasty results. As to the never again, some people complain if they are hung with a new rope... Have fun and locate each of the items using google and add up the value. Mine added up to over $400.00, Can I use all the items? Heck no, but I gave the IPOD cases to my Grand-daughter who loved them. A set of golf tools to a friend brought a smile to his face. Traded some of the items to another thing flinger for something I wanted. If you can't afford to blow $30 on entertainment (that is what the mystery box is) then don't order. Just my two cents YMMV! Be sure to dig through all the foam padding in the phone. I though that mine weren't in there, but found them in a big puff of foamy wrap stuff. They're 650 mA batteries, so nothing special, and anything you bought will likely be better. I charged them in my home charger before putting them in the phone on the base. I have to say that, even putting them on the base fully charged, they got pretty hot which seems to indicate some fast charging...I'll be using my less expensive batteries in there. Yet the phone never showed above 2 out of 3 bars, but that's often the nature of rechargeables...they're rates as 1.2 volts while most things measure levels at alkaline 1.5 volts.

The phones are designed for 1.2V NiMH batteries just as they are shipped with them. Mine are both showing 3 bars, but the batteries had been charged 24 hours. The Manual recomends charging 24hours before use. That is the Standard inital charge time for NiMh batteries. Manuals do have some good information in them once in a while. 60+ Flings

Sorry, if it sounded like it, but wasn't trying to disparage them or anything. The phone rocks and I'm ecstatic about it...especially that it takes AAA unlike my last one which took some funky proprietary battery. Sound quality is also nice and clear, despite sitting right next to a bunch of wireless networking equipment and other cordless phones in my office. I'm running them batteries through a BC-900 charger which does a whole refresh and test on them, they just got a little toasty in the phone charger (and when tested were up at about 1.44 volts, meaning it was doing a fast job of dumping current into them at the 500 mA the manual states, still slower than all those popular 15-minute chargers out there). I also didn't want anyone to be concerned if they only saw 2 bars of power which mine had even when charged to 1.43v: I'm betting you'll still get a full talk time even if that's the case. In a nutshell, if the phone was the only thing in my mystery box, I would have still felt like I got a good deal!

Kind of disappointed in my box..... I had read on the forums that some people got rechargable batteries, psp accessories, and even ds accessories. Sadly I did not receive any of those, I got the 4 items everyone received; 1- Philips Cordless Phone (already have 3 cordless phones around the house, only 4 months old) 1- Philips Expansion Phone (same as above) 1- Altec XM3020 (no one I know has an XM radio) 1- Microbead Pillow (it's a green/black mickey's pillow, never had mickey's malt, but maybe ill try it now) These here is already worth more than the 24.99 I paid for the box, but sadly I have no use for any of them, except for the pillow, yay for the pillow. The rest of the items I received were true Mystery Box items, random things that many people may or may not find useful 1- Maxell FM Transmitter (already have a Transmitter, it's better and uses fewer AAA batteries) 1- pack of eGrips (Just the thought of sticking these on my phone or ipod disturbs me) 1- Football Sports Clip (I'd rather play Madden on my PSP, guess this will go to someone) 1- Maxell Auto Power Adapter (Don't use a CD player anymore, so pretty much useless) 1- Newpoint 6' USB Extension Cable (Don't need it right now, but may come in handy) 1- Video RF Modulator (came in a bag and was old and dusty, WTF am I gonna do with this, this thing is for like 10 year old tube TVs, not my LCD TV) 2- RadioShack Nissan 350Z Toy Cars (retails for 4.99 each, guess I can give them to my nephew) 1- RadioShack Digital Camera Li-ion Battery for Canon NB-3L "BOX" (1st, I dont have a Canon Camera, 2nd, I only got the box, no battery, i even emptied the mystery box to make sure. Dunno if ThingFling messed up here, or they just felt like giving me a box) Once again, overall a nice box (if you're able to put everything to use, sadly I dont have much use for most of the items. But still fun, I await the next Mystery Box or Almost Mystery Box on ThingFling

I am just wondering if anyone has had any luck selling any of the week 1 items on ebay? I've done a little research to see that the digital golf pro isn't selling that well, but i was wondering if anyone has had any luck with anything else?

Just got my box, worth over $30 of course, but was hoping to get more useful items. I was really hoping for a camera case, notebook cards, ipod transmitters, battery + chargers, but I got some fairly good items. Here's a rundown on my items: 1. Phillips DECT 6.0 cordless phone with answering machine. [ Would be very useful if I didn't buy a cordless phone the week before. I may switch to the Phillips one though. ] 2. Expansion cordless phone. [ Probably go to ebay, as it's worth $20 a unit. ] 3. Altec Lansing xm3020. [ Useless, maybe in a few months I can sell on ebay, or Craigslist. ] 4. Power Squid [ Something i wanted, will probably have a use for ] 5. xBox RFU Adaptor [ hopefully I can get rid of some day. ] 6. Really comfortable pillow with some weird country's design. [ yay! ] 7. Beamer LED Keychain WHITE [ Would be nice if I didn't buy 10 LEDS for $5 at dealextreme ] 8. Beamer LED Keychain BLUE [ Would be nice if I didn't buy 10 LEDS for $5 at dealextreme ] 9. 12v car adaptor to universal DC power converter / adaptor [ Might come in handy one day. ] 10. Cheap Flashlight. [ hopefully can get rid of ] 11. Empty Phillips shell casing for cassette tapes? [ wtf? ] 12. Empty Phillips shell casing for cassette tapes? [ wtf? ] Anyways, I guess the box was more thandecent for $30. Though I reallywish I had at least one more thing that would be useful! Was really hoping for the batteries, or camera case, notebook cards or zip zaps! If anybody would like to trade, I'm all up for it! I'm willing to trade anything but the phones.
