Since the forum has been kind of slow and there hasn't been a game posted in a while, I thought I would put up a puzzler game. Since I don't work for TF, there isn't a prize if you get the answer right. I got this from a certain national radio program this weekend, so if you heard this puzzler also, please don't post the answer. I want to see if anybody else can figure it out. Two guys were told by their boss to clean up a job site so they loaded up the truck with stuff to haul off to the dump. When they got to the dump, they truck was weighed with with all of the junk in it. They dumped the load and were weighed again. The dump operator took the first weight and subtracted the second weight to come up with how much the trash weighed, and therefore how much to charge the guys. The guys paid, got their receipt and told the dump operator that they would be back with another load after lunch. After lunch the guys again loaded up the same truck and went to the dump. Again they were weighed before and after they dumped their load. They paid and got their receipt and headed back to the truck. When they got back to the truck one of the guys was looking at the receipts and told the other guy he thought they were overcharged. On the first receipt it said the empty truck weighed 1480 pounds, but on the second receipt said the empty truck weighed 1440 pounds. He thought they were overcharged by 40 pounds the first time they were there. If anything, the truck should weigh a couple of pounds more since we stopped to eat lunch he said. So the guys went back and told the dump operator that they thought his scale was messed up. The dump operator assured them that his scales were working just fine. The dump scales were working properly, so what happened? Does your kids' school have a Circle of Friends? Does it have something to do with the weight of the gas? The second trip would have less gas in the tank.

That's how much fuel they used from the time they left the dump the first time until when they got back and re-weighed.

Yes, a gallon of unleaded gas weighs around 6 pounds, and a gallon of diesel weights around 7 pounds, depending on the makeup and temperature http://www.faqs.org/qa/qa-10188.html

She finds out that her sister is involved with a vast alien conspiracy. Representatives from Mars and several planets outside our solar system contacted her as a liaison to help overthrow the Earth. She also uncovers that her mother found out this information too and was murdered by her sister to avoid the conspiracy being unveiled. The only way to save herself and stop the aliens from taking over is to kill her sister and destroy her transmitter that is busy sending secret Earth intelligence to Mars. It never had anything to do with the man she fell in love with. Although after stopping the aliens they do get married and thwart the zombie uprising a year later. Rock Rock On!

Each pair of definitions is for two words, where the second word is the first word with an extra letter added somewhere (example: band & brand). The length of the short word in each pair is provided.
1) a place where specific events are held & a broad street (5 letters) 2) a way out & to be (4 letters) 3) to abandon & noiseless (4 letters) 4) stout or stalwart & a long channel or depression between hills (5 letters)
Have fun on that one... be back later to check answers!

At first he was angry, but upon talking to the boys, he soon realized that their reason for doing so was sound.
