However, I did want to say that we bought them for a music festival that we go to in the summer. Some friends of ours purchased them at the festival a couple summers ago and loved them! They just put them in the cooler that held pop (yeah, pop ) and they soaked up the water from the ice. They were pretty awesome in the hot July sun. We never bought any because they were always like $7-9 EACH. So these are a great deal. As a side note if you find yourself with way too many of them and too busy to sell them on Ebay, think of your elderly neighbors who might not have air conditioning Crazy michigan people calling it "pop" haha What do "y'all" call it? haha, well the people around here call it coke down in florida when im from, people call it soda... (the right way) you guys really call all pop coke? Yuck, coke is yucky, lol, What do you say when you order at a restaurant? Do you call all the brands Coke...like say Pepsi or Sprite? We call it pop here in Ohio too. I've heard them do that in Atlanta....guess since it's the birthplace of Coke, all sodas (or pops) are Coke.... 16 flings so far!

Calling any soda a Coke is a Southern thing. Calling it pop is a midwestern thing. Just one of those weird little regional things. You say tomato, I say...Coke. Here you go, all the differences in one of those little internet quizzes. Fun for the whole family! Yankee or Dixie?Back to the actual product, these Cool Downz things are awesome. My A/C went out Fri and I had to suffer through the entire weekend without it and I just happened to have a couple of these things sitting around. Life savers!

Remember Pepsi had a blind taste test challenge many years ago? I used to be a Pepsi drinker until I took the test and became a Coke drinker! I don't drink much soda these days though, just more beer. "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then flingest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it." -Thing Fling's Cable AMB review -How to choose an HDTV (A Step by Step guide)

the day i placed my order for these, i had one of my weekly migraines and had read that these actually help. it was the primary reason for purchasing it. the day i received it, i actually had another migraine that was severe enough to make me want to skip dinner and go straight to bed. this thing didn't make the migraine go away, but made it quite bearable. it worked so well that i gave it to my mom who is afflicted with regular migraines as well. i've seen her wearing it, so i believe it helps her too. as for cooling me down, i got a chance to try it out during a memorial day bbq. it worked ok. i might've been hotter without it, but i wouldn't say it kept me cool. cooler maybe, but not cool. ymmv. my only complaint is that for some of them, the polymers seem to leak out. they come out in a clear jelly form. the directions say to soak for 10-15 minutes, so i tried 13, which caused it to come out. i threw it away and tried another for 7 minutes, with similar results. i think some of the polymers are in the stitched area possibly due to poor manufacturing processes, so it might not be an actual leak, but i don't want to take the chance since i have a dog that might ingest something she shouldn't. overall, for the ones that don't leak, i give it a thumbs up.

This was my first fling... flung 3 more since. I bought them for my wife because she works at a day camp in the summers and it can get quite hot out there. She was appreciative of the thought, we'll see how they work in practice next week.

I plan on trying these out at the summer camp I'm working at, but the weather has only been in the 70s-80s so far. If these are as good as I've heard, I bet our camp director will be wanting to buy 300+ of these. Does your kids' school have a Circle of Friends? queenfling wrote:he will have his chance So, you're saying they are coming back? I didn't really want to buy 25 of these back in April but May has been so HOT (to me anyway) that I can't wait to try them out. I sure hope I am around a computer when they are next flung. I don't suppose there is a way of pre-ordering an item?

My first fling! From reading all the good reviews on this, I decided to give it a try. My husband and dad spend a lot of time in their yards, so maybe I can get some smiles from both of them with this! It was a great enough price to at least try them out!
Thanks ThingFling!

I bought 6 cases. I bought 2 cases the very first time they were offered. We sold them out at a trade show and made really good money on them. Thanks. TF!
