Is it just me, or is the tracking by encendia and the USPS totally useless? Every time I get an email from Thingfling saying they've shipped me a package, I try to check on it's status. And, every time I check, Encendia and the USPS say that the package information has been received in the system, but the package hasn't hit the system yet. Then, days later, when the package is delivered, the website says that it has been delivered. At no time can you tell where the package is, or how long it will take to get to you. What's the use of tracking?

I hear that the usps is going to do a rollout of a new tracking sysytem sonn, but that may just be a rumor.

As was mentioned, it's the USPS system that is useless. It's also very frustrating as I had a package ship from TF last Wednesday. It was a "Priority Mail Flat Rate Box" which should have arrived in 3-5 days. I haven't received it yet and have no way of knowing if it really shipped, is lost somewhere, or will be showing up today. The USPS won't do anything on these types of packages for over 2 weeks since they don't guarantee the timeliness of the delivery.

Its only delivery confirmation not package status like UPS or Fed Ex. So you'll only know that it has been shipped not any other info about it. . . Sorry

Not so fast there, King... I'm still missing Ten Buck Tuesday orders from January 23rd that have been "sent" on Feb. 6. I sent a ticket to the HelpDesk and Chaos said that he would have my orders re-printed and shipped ASAP. That was about 3 weeks ago... still nothing.

I'm a bit confused by your reply... I was just commenting on the fact that the USPS delivery confirmation number I was issued (9101805213907565717166) is still showing only the Electronic Notification status. Whenever I've sent stuff using delivery confirmation, it at least shows "Acceptance" and the name of the local post office facility where it is taken in to be sorted. So the current status just leads me to believe that it never actually left the warehouse...

Yeah, TF may entered your order to ship, but just because it was entered doesn't mean it actually left the building (as in Elvis). USPS tells you that in the disclaimer statement. sorry mate.

Actually Kelly, I think it does. The original post was about the tracking meaning nothing. King replied that getting a tracking number meant that it had "left the building". I am in the same boat as Patrick in that I received a shipping number 2 weeks ago, and still no package. The shipping notification that you get from KF, or any other site, simply means that a label has been printed, not that the label has been attached to a box and sent out the door. So, really, the tracking that you get from KF/USPS doesn't really mean anything as far as the shipping of a package, which is not what the King suggested. That said, I am sure that KF will correct the error, once they look into it. The helpdesk doesn't seem to be the way to get your problem noticed. They don't reply, from what I tell. I opened a ticket today about 8 different orders, it will be interesting to see how long before I get a reply (the automated reply doesn't count.) But mention it on the boards, and either King, Queen, or Chaos posts that they will look into it immediately. Of course, that didn't seem to work for Patrick. I have gotten great products and value from this site, but has been mentioned many times before, when there is a problem, it takes WAY TOO LONG for it to get fixed. First time buyers will not come back. This site requires patience.

They do not provide package tracking during transit. King suggested in a previous post that USPS may be implementing a new tracking system shortly.

Well it appears we have actually found something good about dhl - they will show you the location of your package most of the time. Does your kids' school have a Circle of Friends? I purchased 2 items. 1 on 2-27 and one on 2-28. By the time I received the email confirmation of 1 item shipping, I had already received it.
I then started wondering about the other item. I checked my account, and to this day it says USPS expects to receive the item from thingfling and they will update accordingly.
That item was delivered today! So the USPS site is crap for tracking. But it is good for delivery confirmation.
