Here goes. I once found a Multimedia PC game kit which came with a PC pro game pad, a flight joystick and a double CD rom with Wings Over Europe and Aces Over Europe games. There was a sticker from another store for $39.99. "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then flingest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it." -Thing Fling's Cable AMB review -How to choose an HDTV (A Step by Step guide)

Hey if you can get for a dollar what you usually pay a lot more for, then why not? I also remember getting boxes of 15 Atkins bars for a dollar. (I think they usually go for 2-3 bucks per bar). How is a dollar store different from a dime store, adjusted for inflation? I've never been to a dollar store, but practically grew up in dime stores. My first job was in a dime store, in fact. Very little actually cost a dime, however.

One time before a party we had to quickly think up a plan to block off certain areas of the yard from parking. We ended up at the dollar store looking for cheap reflectors, and instead found huge packs of glowsticks/glow bracelets/glow necklaces for the buck. Like... 20 bracelets per package. Instead we ended up just tying some rope from the trees and putting tons of glowrings on the ropes. It was way easier to see than the reflectors would've been and people thought they were a lot cooler. By the end of the party, people were stealing them and wearing them.
Also... we had a ton of extras left over, so I started hooking one to my dogs collar and letting him run loose in the fields at night. I could always keep track of him no matter how dark it was. And damn it... glow sticks are fun.

They were selling puppies at a dollar store? I know that you used to be able to adopt them for free a long time ago, but I wonder what the deal is now. I love glow sticks, especially breaking the glass vial inside. Now only if they could invent rechargable ones. "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Love the glowsticks! My kids extend the life by putting them in the freezer during the day and taking them out at bedtime. They kept a few going for a couple of weeks this way.

Didn't know you could do that. I'll try next time. "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. I once got some PC games that other electronic stores sold for 10-20, Actual movies VHS and DVDs (not the junk they sell now), Some panties (because I can and they were nice), umm. . . wow, I use to get so many good deals I can't remember them all. . . but for some reason, i remember those darn panties! : ). i bought them for shock value. I DID TOO! : ) PS I use to be a manager for Dollar Tree. They have GREAT deals, but mainly you have to work there to get them. . oh . . wait. . not only do you have to work there, but you have to unload the truck and put them aside to where YOU can get to them before anyone else and PRAY you don't have the day off of the truck (which usually managers didn't) or a day off when you got to that box. Of coarse this was years ago in a small store. now there all Huge Superstores. I use to joke there would be a frozen section with tony pizzas and banquet meals for 50 cents or a buck. Though I think they may do that soon enough. I miss working there. . . hell. . I miss working at all right now. CMR
