Everybody has a HDTV now’ a days. Ok, it's not true, but we know everybody will get one. So you have to have enough tools to get the perfect image. The SDV7700K offers the longest range reception for analog and digital TV. Receive signals from up to 140 miles away. Tune in channels 2 through 69, plus FM. And the best, you will not have to carry it. You fling one and ThingFling will ship it to you for only $39.99 and you are ready for you theater section.

Fling yours!

The official date looks like it'll be pushed back to June, however, it looks like many stations are going ahead and turning off analog broadcasting in a few weeks anyways. They don't want to keep having to broadcast in two formats which is more expensive than just one.

For the item, I have no idea how good it is, but I paid this much for an amplifying indoor antenna.

This antenna will work just fine for those who want a new antenna. It receives digital signals just like any other UHF antenna.

All this fear-mongering about the OTA DTV is just funny for me to watch.

If you have an old tv all you'll need is a converter box to get digital channels over the air. It;'s so simple. No reason to be afraid. Granted some people might loose a station due to the limitations of how DTV is broadcast, but most will gain more then a few options for television watching.

If you live in a area like I do and happen to be on the edge of several markets multiple antennas might be the key! I have 2 rooftop antennas pointed in different directions (1 at about 95 degrees the other at 300 degrees), what I end up with is a great selection of digital channels. However this can be a bit tricky to get going, but with digital there is now worries about ghosting!!

So what was my point here? Oh, yeah this should be a good, if basic, antenna for many people out there. Just remeber to buy a signal booster at Menards, Home Depot, or on the web and enjoy the future!!

Quote:

The complete kit contains everyhting for either twinlead or coax cable installation:
* 1 (4) 1/2 ft Mast
What does that mean? (1) 4.5 ft Mast? (4) .5 ft Masts? Something else?
Fling0: AMB XXVIII ($39.00)
Fling1: Monster Cable Digital Battery Charger w 4AA 1850mAh batteries ($9.00 after 10% off coupon)
Fling2: 2 Siren 4Gb MP3 Players ($39.99)
Fling3: 2x Monster High Capacity Pro Charger ($3.33 each)
Fling4: 12 Super-Bright 9 LED Flashlights ($13.98 )
Fling5: 12 Super-Bright 9 LED Flashlights - LAST TIME SALE ($13.98 )
Fling6: AMB XL (Power Squid) ($12.59)

It's not particularly silly, is it? I mean, the right leg isn't silly at all and the left leg merely does a forward aerial half turn every alternate step.

I really had no idea if it is exactly what i'm wanting, but i have found similar digital receivers for around a 110 dollars so i bought it, and if all goes well i will be able to receive signals from indianapolis and st. louis... does anyone know how much better range i could get with a signal booster??? i'm just out of the range for louisville as far at i can tell.

Well, off-hand I don't know how far you are from each place. I only suggest putting up the antennae and checking how it works. For me, without the amplification, the indoor antennae gets around 40% feed. That is enough to get a video but decent amount of blocking too. With the amplifier get 66%, which gets a good picture with no to very little blocking.

Finally, a lot of stations will be turning off their analog signals in a couple weeks, even if official date gets pushed back. When that happens, the digital signals will be running at full power, so you'll definately get a better signal then anyways.

And finally, make sure to rescan your tuners if you use over the air signals since many stations will be changing their frequencies.

Question What does that have to do with this item? Digital signals are sent over the air also. In fact, there is probably more need for a real antenna with the digital signal than with analog. With analog, if the signal isn't that strong you can still see the picture but it may be a bit snowy. With digital, if it's not a strong enough signal you will get nothing.

You're going to see alot of complaints from people living in rural areas (more than 50 miles from the stations ) as the uhf, didital signal,is not as strong as the vhf, analog signal, even with an antenna amp it is still a strech for people 50-60 miles + away. 40 miles and less you should be OK.

I'd probably get one of these if they gone on sale again,.

I have a nice UFH antenna now, but one of my local stations will be returning to their old VHF-low frequency when they finally switch off analog, so I need to get something for VHF, too.

Uhh...moron, you still need an antenna to pull in the over the air signals.

For people not as dumb as the above poster, this antenna is great. I bought it during the latest fling and despite some other opinions, it is built well for an outdoor antenna. It greatly increased the range and clarity over my old 10 element roof antenna. I no longer have those freeze frames when watching digital tv. It is huge, but all the better to receive signals. I'm extremely happy with it overall.

Two issues with it though. It comes in about 5 pieces that need to be assembled, as well as a few of the larger elements that need to be attached. The instructions do not identify the name of each part, yet it instructs you to put part A into part B. You really have to be able to go by the big picture on the front of the instructions. The othe problem is that the U bolts used to hold the antenna to the mast are not long enough on two of the three connection points. You will need longer U bolts.
