Awww shucks Debs! I've missed you and everyone here too!

While I'm here...I have to tell ya all.....Lucy learned a new trick!!!

Well...she learned a while back how to get the pantry door open so she can pull out all of her treat bags to get me to open them and give her and Ethel treats...well..to keep her out..I've started to secure the door so she can't slide it open..well..now she just lifts the door from the bottom with her paw and pushes until it's knocked off the track and then pushes it open so she can get in and get her treats out! There's no stopping her!

This is cute! I don't have firefox though..yes..I'm using IE. What about the firefox email? Is this browser based or is it a separate program like Outlook Express? I don't know if I could give up my Outlook Express!

Hey angel!

I assume you are talking about Thunderbird? It is a standalone program.

As far as its workings, I really couldn't tell ya, all I use is Gmail. My guess it is really similar to OE. BTW, what makes u so partial to OE?

hmmm so far I do like the names...Fire Fox...Thunder Bird....all animals..can deal with that! Laughing

It's not that I'm partial to OE..It's just that it's all I've used since the beginning of time. OH...no..I take that back..wayyyyyyy back in the mid 90's I used Netscape and loved that email and didn't want to switch to OE but when I got another computer it came with OE so I got used to it...so basically...I've been using OE for over 10 years since that switch and now I'm used to it. I don't take to changes very well until I'm forced!

Now..say I downloaded this firefox and thunderbird..what would I do with IE and OE? Uninstall them?? Leave them??

You would just leave them, they're pretty integrated with windows anyway, and IE is handy to keep around for the few websites you come across now and then that are still IE compatible only.

But you really don't have to give up outlook express if you don't want to, you can use OE and use firefox just fine. Thunderbird or any other client is up to you if you want to switch. Personally I still use Eudora which at this point is verging on archaic (hasn't been updated in a few years now, though they are working on a open source version now, but haven't tried it out yet). Which is basically because Eudora was the first client I used when I first got net back in 1996, and it is the only email client to this day that I like any.... If OE works for you, stick with it, but it does share some of the downsides security was that was mentioned about IE. (less secure, plus outlook in general is a bigger target). I don't personally like the feel of thunderbird, but that's just me. It shares advantages that FF has, added security, plus add-on extensions and themes.

So Firefox is more secure than IE and OE? Wouldn't my Norton secure what I have here or no?

What makes Firefox more secure?

See I know nothing about Firefox! And...Socks is very cute, I have been not here lately so I happen to see all of the posts when they are a day of five old. I like how Socks has a grip on that giant teether toy. I have a dog that would challenge Socks to a tug of war with that toy.

I was offloading pics from my cam today, and HAD to come back and respond to your comment, which when I first read it a week or so ago, I was gonna say, it's not THAT big.

The night I gave that toy to Socks, I had his box/bed sitting on the floor next to me at the computer, and in the middle of the night I casually glanced down into the box, and this is what I saw:

He has not repeated the performance since however!
