Hi everybody,
Adam here, I'm an "uber flinger" b/c I've bought way too much stuff from this site!

Most of it has been great--a few nice surprises, a let down or two (which the royal court has always made up for), but aside from the shipping per day change, I've been most annoyed that Almost Mystery Boxes are so rarely offered--it's all mystery, and while I do like some mystery, it's nice to know at least one item, or the general topic--this would even put thingfling a step ahead of woot's boc and other similar total cr*p shoots!
So, post here to let me know if you agree or if I should go away, so the royal TF court and I can know where the populous stands!

regards
Adam

I'm with you, Adam... as much as I love the MBs, I sure wouldn't mind having AMBs pop up now and again, too!

Of course, if an AMB comes along... I'll probably wind up breaking my promise to myself to try harder to resist MBs Shock

My thinking is that unless you're like woot, where they lose money on their bags, and they do it just for publicity, then its stupid to buy mystery boxes since if the stuff could be sold for more it would be. so i vote either you bring back the amb's so we have an idea of the junk we're getting or limit severlty the amount of boxes per month to make them better and more for publicity not to get rid of real garbage like the last stuff i got from you

BRING BACK THE AMB! Count me in!

What ever happened to the AMB Wednesday and Sunday things?? There used to be a time where you had to be here and snag that AMB or it was gone....I remember whining because I kept missing it..it was there..and only a few minutes..and gone! Those were fun..it was a race to the AMB/MB!

I agree 100%. Looking back, my first fling was an AMB, and I have never been disappointed by the contents of an AMB, unlike MBs. Ihaven't bought a MB since the 9.99 fiasco; I might very well spring for an AMB if it offers something I need.

I also agree with you. It would be nice to know at least one of the items in the box or at least the theme of the box.

I like them both. Bottom line is that the Court will go with those that sell best, can't blame them for that. A nice mix of AMB and complete MB would be nice - so would more MB like this last one for under $20 - I still feel that they should consider doing a $2 box ($8 with shipping) to compete with woot!'s Bag of Crap, even if they "lost" a little money it would go a long way to getting more woot!ers over here . . . just a thought. My vote is yes, bring back more AMB but keep the MB coming too! Heck, just keep them coming . . . . all the great Flings . . .

Count me in!

You think I'd be excited get a MB full of stuff for my iPod...which I might be if I had an iPod. I'd love to have a clue about whether it's something I want to buy...

Between all the iPod and Xbox stuff, I kinda feel like a loser for backing the wrong technologies (since I have a Wii & PS3 for example).

I understand you have to clear out the warehouse (werehouse wherehouse warehome) every now and again and you have to keep a staff (to sweep up) employed (so $6) and telling us everything in the box would be a clear and present danger to your bottom line, besides who would buy a pig in a poke (I mean a litany of junk) I mean a MB, and when a manufacturer wants to rid themselves of their plastic parts and your disposable income, where are they to turn (including my stomach)? Why ThingFling of course! And you so do a lovely remarkable job as well. Based upon the things I have found (fondly) in my MB's I know that you have nary a junk ridden square foot hidden to be left found, rightly so.

So, do I want a sneak peak into an MB? (aka AMB) Nope. I crave the mystery, and Christmas is coming soon! Won't you be, please won't you be..., my neighbor.

I cast my vote in support of more almost mystery boxes. I realize of course that by nature the AMB is likely harder for the court to assemble then a pure mystery (and.. probably sell less them the Mystery box es). But I think the reward is great: the almost mystery boxes rarely have huge flame wars regarding the value of the contents as do some Mystery boxes. The AMB also tends to set TF apart from the crowd. Personally I have been for some time working on buying less and less mystery boxes from here (and other places)--in regards to MBs from here, I think the value is always there, but given my finances at this juncture and the fact that my boxes of mystery box stuff I can't personally use are overflowing already... Well the AMB would just be more appealing to me at the moment. My stash has value and will eventually disseminate through sales, trades, and gifting, but I'd like to reclaim the space in my bedroom being used as a mini warehouse for now. heh.

AMBs in general jusr make it much more likely you'll get stuff you actually can put to use right away.

I agree with Adam...Bring back the AMB!!! I have not bought any MB's since the Infamous $9.99 fiasco a few months back. Brick wallShame on you Shame on you Brick wall I also noticed that we have not been getting any clues when a new MB comes up. Whats up with that? Think A lil clue every now and then sure would be nice. Cool Besides that's part of the fun in having a Mystery Box isn't it? So come on Thing Fling...whaddya say????? Please bring back the AMB!!! I agree, AMB would be more appealing to me currently. Like Scaredwitless, I also have quite the stash built up and due to the rising gas and power costs the wallet is quite thin these days. I have not been disappointed with any of my MB purchases from TF, not even the hotly criticized cell light/ poker watch box. But for a little while at least I would like to know I am getting something I will be able to use on arrival or at least shortly thereafter. YMMV

The AMB'S Alway's give you some sort of piece when your tossing out your (these day's) hard earned cashVery Happy Knowing at least one Item in a amb is a little more comforting,as opposed to some of the previous mb's knowing you or your's could have an immediate use for the for said item, and price for something usefull up front take's off some of the sting if the rest of the for said amb is something you may never use(or regift) YOU DEFINITLY KNOW WHAT YOUR IN FORBad Grin Bad Grin Bad Grin For at least that one itemRolling Eyes With that being said,BRING IT ONVery Happy Also while the ROYAL COURT CONTUMPLATES THIS ISSUEApplause Let's get our NAMES BACK AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FORUM'S AGAINPray Pray Pray It's pretty lonely walking thru the flingdom aloneEvil or Very Mad
