While searching around the Mozilla site today looking for a cool theme to add to FF 3 now, I came across this and thought of you "catty" people here, if you run FF (which you should BTW)

Thank you!

Laughing Your first comment and the fact that no one else has responded had me worried at first glance, thought perhaps I unwittingly revealed one of my horrible secrets, such as the fact that I keep Socks in one of those gerbil running wheel things to power all the electricity in my house. Surprised Whistle Liar

Yeah, it's a good day over here if I can spoil him rotten, the good news is he remains sweet, and if he's getting any brat like tendencies, at least I don't have to hear it. Smile

Not a Firefox theme, but for all you dog lovers, or people who just love the cute, here's socks and his snack, attack, and run-away maneuver (patent pending):

See I know nothing about Firefox! And...Socks is very cute, I have been not here lately so I happen to see all of the posts when they are a day of five old. I like how Socks has a grip on that giant teether toy. I have a dog that would challenge Socks to a tug of war with that toy.

Well Vivian, it really all boils down to security. Most malicious (bad stuff--spyware,malware, etc etc) code (the "language" behind what make a pc an all software talk) is targeted towards IE, simply because it is what MOST users have therefor a bigger target for code writers. Also, IE is "bloated" (uses a lot of space for alot of BS) where FF does not (though it is growing) A user can better control Firefox vs IE through settings and such. Thats it in a nut shell but there is more than that. I still have IE installed because there are some sites that will only allow IE.

Look for the IE Tab extension for FireFox, it opens up any site you wish in a tab in firefox, but using the IE rendering engine. It's great, just a click of the button and you get an IE page in your regular FF window.

Vivian, security is great, and FF is much more so then IE, it also has more frequent security patches if there are issues discovered, but from a regular users perspective I think the biggest draw is the features, and there are many built right in in the base install. Two of favorite built in features are: in line spell checking (anytime you type on a web form, the spelling is checked on the fly and misspelled words get red squiggly lines put under them, ala Microsoft word style), and the built in session resotre (if turned on, when you close firefox it'll remember all your open websites in tabs/windows, and then when you start firefox the next time it will automatically reopen all those tabs/windows/websites). There are more. But the best to come is yet to come: FF has a huge library of themes (for changing the appearance, as eagle eye showed one such in the original post of this thread), and extensions (for adding any sort of functionality you would like.. so long as someone has made an extension to do so!) My FF is so heavily customized with my settings and extensions that I feel really awkward when I have to use another PC that is not mine. But the plus side is my FF configuration fits me like a glove, and it is a pleasure to surf the internet.

Other notable browsers worth checking out if you want to evaluate your choices are Opera and Safari for windows(assuming you don't use a mac, but then you'd already have Safari, now wouldn't you?) I believe Netscape still exists, but I have not looked at it in a long time. If you want a feature rich alternative browser which still uses the IE engine, Maxthon is fairly good, if you are okay with still living with IE.

Haha no I was just trying to entice her over to the dark side, let's face it if everybody cared about security as some of us do, IE would've died a long time ago. Smile

IE Tab surely is FF3 compatible, using FF3 release and have it installed. I have used it recently too, but thankfully do not have to use it as often as when I used XP still and needed to get to the windows update site.

OH Scared! I just watched all of Socks's Videos! He's so adorable! The wrestling one you can see how tiny he really is compared to your hand! He looks snack sized for Lucy! Just kidding! Wink

Socks is one lucky puppy! Way too adorable! How much does he weigh?

Hey Ava, where the heck you been?

Socks is 4lbs 20z, just weighed him. He is growing fast, when I first got him he was in the 2lb+ range. And I SWEAR there was a night a few weeks back where his length just.. exploded. I don't know how much he grew but it was like I let him along for an hour and in that time someone came by and stretched him out or something. haha. and yeah like Debs mentioned, his fur is getting darker (and coarser)

Anyhow.. snack sized looking, yes, but you'd be surprised, he's a tiny dog that doesn't know how tiny he is. Acts like a big 'ol dog sometimes. also if his name stood for anything it'd be "little dog, big poop"

PS thanks for raiding my stash of other socks videos. Wink stalker. Surprised

Stalker! HA! Puppy Stalker..I was checking out the snack food choices for Lucy actually! She said Socks does look like a chewy with an inner crunchy surprise type of snack...she likes him! ......... ALOT!

Wow..4lbs...so cute actually! Lets see now...Lucy is 18lbs...so what is Socks like up to her knees?? Eh?

Ya know..they say that about chihuawawaaaas (can never spell that) they say they think they're big dogs and usually can boss around a Rottweiler! It's probably those razor sharp piranha type teeth nipping at their ankles that keeps the big dogs in line!

Little Dog Big Poop eh? I can just see you out there walking him carrying a snow shovel with you! Laughing Actually..you should do that some day...see what kind of looks you would get!
