First off, I have to give props to my local Fedex Home Delivery driver.
He called me today after a second failed attempt - PERSONALLY - and said that if I wanted, they could deliver on Saturday. And gave me his PERSONAL cell phone number to contact him! Big props to Fedex for that one.

As to the return of the package, you can prevent that by contacting Fedex at the number on the door tag and ask them to hold it for pickup. I've done that before - they will normally hold it for seven days before it gets returned.

There *may* be other options as far as delivering to another address - and possibly have an extra added cost - but I don't know that for sure.

As for me, I have no problem with TF requiring direct signature. If the package is valuable enough, the shipper has the right to require a direct signature. Sure, it's an inconvenience - and TF really could have mentioned to us that it would require a direct signature so that we could specify a different shipping address - but in the grand scheme of things it really is NOT a big deal.

You buys your mystery boxes, you takes your chances. I've bought plenty of them, and while I haven't been able to use everything in all of them, what has been left I've either given to others that could use it or donated it somewhere.

Yea, but how about those of us who spent over $100 on stuff that we will never use, expecting at least some items that turn on on their own....

Just a thought!Whistle

You know the mystery box on this site is a scam to get you to buy all of the stuff that didn't sell out on the daily sales. If you add up what the items were selling for on here individually, it's about $123.45. Maybe you'll get 5-10 bucks worth of extra crap. Oh yea and don't forget that awesome free mini fan. TF is very smart to do this, as it keeps the products flowing through their warehouse at an incredible rate. So thank you to all who bought this MB, now that all the old crap is out of the way, maybe we will see some new stuff on here.

I'd have to agree - in the grand scheme of things it's not that important at all !

* It's not important enough to take an hour to drive out and pick it up at fed-ex after work
* It's not important enought to take a day off of work to wait for it.
* It's not important enought to be worried about it sitting on my porch for a few hours with a "standard" signature release, which works for everything else I order, even stuff worth way more than this box.

Shallow? No, I'd actually thing that I have a pretty good grasp of the big picture. This is a fun thing and not something I want to have to re-arrange my life around.

You know what's funny about this? The only thing i have EVER complained about, after all the mystery boxes and purchases, and everything, has been the shipping. I've dealt with the contents of all of the mystery boxes, and admittedly, TF has done better with getting items out the door. My issue remains that it doesn't seem consistent. But also, I kinda think that if I'm going to spend 123.45 on a mystery, then I'm not out much if it gets stolen off the porch.

The odd thing about it all is I left a note, forgot about it, and went to a party that lasted a day long. stumbled home still a little drunk the next day, having completely forgotten about the delivery. I'm sure glad I wrote that note...

All those annoyed by the inability to use the Altec Lansing home theater for iPod, today's Woot is a 30gb refurb iPod Video that is compatible with the dock.

I received my $123.45 MB. I was out of town for a couple weeks and what a nice surprise when i/we came home. Its always tough saying goodbye to family and the flight(s) were delayed and looooong. So to have a big chunky box of mystery items was just the ticket for me. And to discover that I was Shagged (my first time) I was one happy lil camper. I've listed the items and MSRP's on the bigger items. I hope this isn't rude to do. I simply can't believe that Thingfling is so generous. Thanks again to Shaggy for my 'Shag'......I feel like I'm in with the in crowd now.

1. Altec Lansing Digital Mini Theater, MSRP $349.95
2. Altec Lansing XM Satellite Radio Docking Station, MSRP $99.00
3. Phillips Universal Remote MSRP $99.00
4. Power Blocker Surge Protector, MSRP $49.99
5. Phillips Key chain Digital Camera
6. Phillips Clip on headphones
7. USB Phone
8. Radio Shack Talking Road Map
9. Digital Golf Pro
10. 2 packs Nike Baseball socks
11. LED Flashlight (camo)
12. Phillips MP3 to stereo connector
13. CD/DVD Quick Wipes
14. 1 Can Dust Off
15. Women’s Sun Visor [/color]

Ok, so I got this when I returned from a trip, and life has finally settled down enough to post:

How thoughtful of TF to send me the perfect thing to give to my ex for his b'day, since I was absolutely stumped for what to get the persnickety lil cuss... now I know exactly what he's getting, the Altec Lansing Ipod mini theater for his iPod video! Just perfect Smile Now he can watch stuff while he's gaming!

Altec Lansing XM speakers - this one I'm having a bit of a problem with, as I don't know anyone who uses XM, however it might just make a great 'door prize' at the next company gathering!

Phillips Universal remote - I'm still working with this to get it to do the disk skip on my 5 disk dvd player, and the dvr functions on my cable box, but other than that... woohoo! I really like the way it's all put together and works!

A camera bag, completely customizable inside with movable 'walls', which just happens to be the perfect size for the Wii and accessories. Much better than hauling around a bulky laptop carrier!

Also wound up with a bulky pair of headphones, which will wind up in my 'if you see something you need, take it' box for my friends, I'm sure someone will love 'em Smile

Thanks, TF, more good stuff!

[edit] Double wooohooo! I am no longer serious (serious is not a comfy state for me to be in for long ;p) and I am now feeling THE POWA!!!

Curiosity killed the cat....
Satisfaction brought it back!
