I never caught this particular product, but it is possible that the batteries in your units are bad due to simply having sat on a shelf for way too long--but I would suggest keeping them plugged in for a while longer and observing them. The Bell South branded similar units I received from TF back in the Holiday edition mystery box, exhibited similar behavior at first, I thought the batteries were completely shot just from age, but after a week or so of being plugged in, the main unit I have been using began to behave "normally" and although I have not tested its actual run time on backup power, it has done the job it was supposed to in a couple black outs since installed. But that said, give it some time but not too much time--if they are all truly dead you want to put in a helpdesk ticket with TF, and they will work something out with you. But you do need to inform them of the defects before too much time has passed since purchase (I am unsure of the exact time line, but I think it's in the FAQ). Good luck!

I also bought 3 sets the last time they were offered with the same results (they do not work). I spoke with the help desk and they kindly offered a refund if I would send them back at my expensed'oh!

At the cost of each unit I decided to see if they would just take a charge over time. I am planning a test later this week. I doubt it will work, but will report back if it does.

They can be used for more than just for phones. Well if you were luck enough to get ones that function. All mine did and the proper quanity also.

You know, now that I actually see the photo of the gemini, I'm a little confused, because this looks JUST like mine, which I could've sworn was a Bell South model... But it is a spitting image.

So, for what it is worth, mine took a full week or so of charging before it began behaving normally. Your mileage may very obviously, so I know that is small solace. I am not a big fan of this shipping back at our expense policy I hear people mention now and then. In the past TF used to send replacements without bothering about returns. Which was always an awesome gesture, and I do understand why they more often seem to be asking for returns, especially now that they are bigger, BUT I hope they will revise their policy to picking up the return shipping. True someone has to eat the shipping, but generally it sits better on the customer if they do not end up feeling they got stiffed on something they didn't get in the end... The customer of course is the commodity and paying a little return shipping is not a huge price to pay to keep them around and shopping in the future, especially now that we are officially paying shipping to us as well.

Good luck to you guys, hope yours mysteriously springs to life as mine did months back.

Thanks. I will post the results when I test it later this week. Pray

I bought 3 sets, so 6 all together and it appears that none of them work properly.

The 1st one started blinking when plugged in and has been plugged in for 5 or 6 days and is still blinking indicating it's still charging. According to the manual, it should be fully charged within 72 hours. If I unplug the power brick while the phone is in use, the blue light comes on and the power is disrupted to the phone and it disconnects during the switchover. After that I'm able to use the phone. I haven't tested how long it will last.

The 2nd one when first plugged in blinked for a few seconds and then showed solid green which is supposed to indicate that it's fully charged. If I unplugged the power brick it powered off immediately. After being plugged in for 5 or 6 days it appears to work pretty much like the 1st one.

I just plugged in the other 4 and they all blinked for a few seconds and then showed solid green which is supposed to indicate fully charged. If I unplugged the power brick it powered off immediately. Time will tell if this gets better.

Shouldn't these maintain the power to my phone when the AC power goes out?

Is it really possible that I got 6 units and they are all defective?

Anybody else have a good/bad experience with these?

For the ones that just blink for a few seconds, try pressing the reset button. Should start blinking again. May take several tries, but eventually should continue blinking. Then it's a 4, or more, day charge till the light stays on with a full charge.

Received 2, one dead. Got same response from Help(?) desk. If I return the dead one, at my expense (and the cost to ship a battery is??), they will be happy to send a replacement. Based on all the comments here, don't think I'll take them up on that. Or if I don't want a replacement they will refund my money, less a $5.00 cancellation fee (let's see: 1 at 2 for $6.99 less $5.00 ..Plus shipping ...Yeah, great deal). O well, There's always Woot.

By the way, Wonder what they will do with the dead ones (If anybody takes them up on it)?
