I've seen this come up many times by new flingers. I hope the following post clears it up for you in one neat little post without confusing you more.

Glossary of terms used on the board:

TF: Thing Fling
MB: Mystery Box
AMB: Almost Mystery Box
The Royal Court: the faces behind ThingFling(CLICK HERE FOR NAMES)
"I Got Shagged":This pertains to the Mystery boxes below. Shaggy and the rest of the royal court take turns picking special boxes to add a few EXTRA mystery items too. These boxes come with a lot of items, weigh more, and also have a personal signed note in them for the lucky flinger.
HELP TICKET: If you didn't get your order or it was broke or damaged in some way...the best thing to do is submit a ticket. At the top of the MAIN page click HELP DESK, from there you can read up in the Knowledge base, then submit a ticket.

MYSTERY BOXES: TF offers this at random on the front page, just as they do with any other product. Some are left up for a very long time, others for a very short time. These boxes are an absolute mystery as to what is inside them. That's half the fun! Make sure to come back and post under "What did you get?" as to what you got!

ALMOST MYSTERY BOXES: These boxes are like the mystery boxes, but TF tells you at least one item that you are definitely going to get in your box. Then they throw in a few mystery items for kicks. Again, sometimes these are offered for almost the whole day, other times just for an hour or two. Make sure you download the widget below to keep track!

If you have a hard time keeping track of items, first download the Yahoo Widget HERE, then download the ThingFling Widget HERE. It will tell you what item is currently up at TF.

This is now beyond the time that I can edit it. If you have anything you think should be added to this, contact one of the Royal Court members via PM and ask them to do so.
THANKS EVERYONE!

Nice job Melmo, useful for the noobs if they actually read it. Smile

"First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then flingest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

Just a quick update:

I've seen some posts saying that the Royal Court ONLY Shags the Flingers that are ACTIVE in the forums.

This is NOT true!! ANYONE can get Shagged at any time! You never know when it can be YOUR turn!! Dancing d'oh! d'oh!

There ARE times when someone from the Royal Court will pick at certain Flinger....but it is USUALLY announced ahead of time

For Example:

Shaggy posted that EVERY 100th (?? was that the #??) Infamous MB would get shagged.

So I say 'Keep on Flinging, You never know when you'll get lucky!!!' Dancing Dancing

Yeah--Many more new flingers/lurkers/minimalistic posters get shagged than the regulars do. BUT it is a fact that you are ten times more likely to hear the complaints than the praises (anyone who has ever worked in customer service will know this is true). When an active poster gets shagged, well... they actively post about it. That's all.

Hah... thanks for the info. That's exactly what I was trying to figure out... what the heck shagging was. *laff* Man, as if just getting the mystery boxes isn't enough fun, there's a chance to have 'em stuffed extra? *shweet*

Heh I already blogged about my first MB that I received today... I could see this becoming a habit if I'm not careful. Smile

But yeah, thanks for the sticky so I didn't have to wander around here clueless for too long.
