Rather than spreading it out throughout the forum, let's try to consolidate this information into a single thread. How have your purchasing and customer service experiences been with ThingFling? What's gone wrong and what's gone right? How has ThingFling treated you? TheEndless

I have 11 orders so far with TF, some of them having multiple boxes. All orders have been better than expected with the exception of the 9.99 MB. However since then TF has gone out of their way to make up for it. All in all, I'm happy with the products that ThingFling sends, if I wasn't I wouldn't still be here.

Well, at first I thought the Keons were going to be bad..but then I got mine and actually they were pretty decent. Then, I got the 'infamous' box....again I was expecting the worst..but we've had a blast with all the stuff...so it turned out ok. I've only had to open 1 help ticket and got speedy results. So...I guess you can say I'm pretty darn happy with TF!!! 49 Flings Flung and WAAY more to come!Female in case you don't know LMAO

Great idea doing this topic! See if you can get it stickied to the top so it stays up there!
So far..no complaints! The 9.99 infamous MB wasn't the best..but I'm making the best of it by giving it all out next Halloween. Otherwise...everything I've received so far whether it's flinging one item at a time or a mystery box...all has exceeded it's value by far! I opened up a ticket about the speaker system I received and broke on me over three months later..only because I was trying to find out about the warrenty..and The Royal Court blew my mind by sending me a replacement FREE of charge..this was the $198.00 5.1 channel speaker system!!!! Not a cheap item for them to have done this..but they did it without me having to ask!
Thing Fling's Customer service is beyond excellent and bypasses all other websites when it comes to caring about their customers experiences with them! They bent over backwards to try to make up the 9.99 mystery box when they didn't even have to do that either...I was fine with what I received and yet they still tried to make me happier along with the other disatisfied customers..I didn't need to be included with them since I was fine..I got what I expected for 9.99! And..all my cell phone lights work!
and...now for the bad...the forum! You all know exactly what I'm talking about so I don't need to go on about it here! Maybe it should be moderated like the other sites do and certain deflamatory posts removed and members banned..like the other sites do.

The Good: Excellent experience with most MBs. EXCELLENT customer service. Forums in general, especially the fact that the Royal Court takes time out of their schedule to post here. SHAGGING! Coupons. Forum games by staff. Shipping costs. Yes, I'm actually going to say the move to paying for shipping is a good thing. It's gotten me tons of free stuff so far. Stuff that I'd have never paid for, but was able to pick up because it's free. As long as you make two orders on the same day, any "free" item is completely free. However, if a half dozen or dozen orders are going to be combined and will have to wait a week for them to be shipped, the rollover time should definitely be longer... Plus, I have stayed away from a bunch of flings just b/c of the added shipping The Bad: A couple MBs. The 377 was my first fling. It was meh for me, but the additude of forums kept me coming back (22 flings so far!). The 9.99 wasn't the best but it wasn't bad either. The XBOX APC thing was awesome and the cell phone lites were too (maybe a few too many though). I now have a lifetime supply of 4 LED mini-flashlights, a better surge protector than I was using, and a new tshirt SHIPPING TIMES! Ugh. The time from ordering to processing to shipping is BAD. So is the notification that something has shipped. Most times I have the item before I get the shipped notification. I know it's being worked on but please hurry! The Ugly: The Product board. I wish that there were some very light moderation on these boards. I'm sick of cursing and dead cats and general trollings from people who were unhappy with ONE mystery box and feel the need to let the whole flingdom know about it.... again.... and again..... and again.......... The excruciating magnitude of your philosophical confabulations are simply too voluminous for the diminuity of my comprehension. 22

The good--there's lots of it. I have been pleased with everything I have ordered from here. I am a huge fan of the mystery box--even the 9.99. I go into it knowing it's a mystery and all they really promise you is a box! I have found some good items at really good prices, so I am pleased in that department. Customer service--I'm happy with that too. I have had one ticket--an item left out of a box. They shippped it, but shipped the wrong item, and have now sent out the right one, I hope. Even that, I can't complain. Everyone makes mistakes, and as long as the recitfy that, I'm ok. I do believe they went above and beyond to solve the issues with the 9.99 mystery box. THe bad, just a few things. I am unimpressed with the new shipping policy. Yes, it's great that the most you pay for shipping in a day is $10, but I rarely find three items in a day to order, because items tend to stay up for some time. Also, I don't like paying $6 shipping for an item three days a week and it all ship together in the same box. Something about that really gripes me. But even that is a really small bad thing. It wouldn't keep me from shopping here. What may do that is the forums. When I first started shopping here, TF had a very nice feeling of community. Now we have so much hate and discontent that we have people forming alliances and it's not fun at all. I used to check TF several times a day just to see what was going on and read the posts, which really enticed me to buy. Now, I almost dread coming here, and I can see where this may eventually lead to the end of my flinging fascination. I know you may say that that's what these people wanted, but I just can't help it. I can't even click on the products forum looking for information without diving right into it, and it is quickly taking the fun away. If the only opinions that matter are everyone else's, do you ever really have one of your own?

Overall, I would have to say I'm happy with my experiences at ThingFling. The Good: My first fling stands out - it was the Nike socks AMB from last year. I needed to buy some socks anyway, and the package looked like a good deal on that basis alone. When I got the box and saw all of the other stuff inside, I was really impressed and very happy with my purchase. Most of the other AMBs and MBs that I have bought have followed suit. The bad: The times that I have gotten damaged or non-functional merchandise and been told that it was my responsibility to party for return shipping. This was not in a MB either - it was items that I specifically purchased. I've commented on this before, so I won't belabor the point, but this particular policy is very customer-hostile. The ugly: The 3.99 mystery box last year and the 9.99 box earlier this year. Both were "why did they even bother" momemts. Although with regard to the 9.99 box I must admit that TF did right by me, so it did eventually work out. My Dragons need your help to hatch and grow! Please click on them!

The two purchases I've bought from thingfling have been fine, no issues. I always do my research on companies, and I have to admit that due to the mystery box fiascos and their policies on returning broken merchandise (me pay shipping for you sending broken stuff?! really the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard from a company...) that affects my buying through thingfling. I was looking to buy the 2 webcam deal that is coming up soon, but due to this policy, I won't buy any electronics here ever. I'd gladly buy from other online companies and pay more to not experience the hassle of potential broken items (experiencing a hassle is worse than spending some extra $$!) That's my experience so far! Oh, and I think the shipping for 6, then 4, then free has issues. How can one know if it will benefit them if they have no clue if an item will be offered for 1 hour or 18... being more clear and forthright with the consumer would help us to make better buying decisions. Alright, shutting up now.

Thing Fling stands out to me as a very customer-friendly site. The things I've purchased have always been in good working order and so I've never needed to open a ticket. Also, I like what they did to reconcile the fact that people were unhappy with the 9.99 MB. I liked receiving those surprises. Good stuff.
Unfortunately, what attracted me to ThingFling in the first place, the lively, supportive, friendly message board, has slowed way down and gone through its rough moments. I think that people need to revive this forum to what it used to be. I know people like Scared are really trying hard, but I think it might be a slow thing.

I've had two Flings, so far. Both, initially, went great. My most recent purchase was a pair of the PowerSentry UPS's. I had to request a delay in shipping because of a vacation, and requested a specific day for them to begin shipment. Emailed a week after that date to check on it, and they had not shipped. Once shipped, the packages arrived quickly, though.
Then the ugly part started. I opened the first, inspected it, then plugged it in to charge. Nothing... The unit was completely dead. Opened the second package only to discover a printed email taped to the top of the UPS box...an RMA note from Thing Fling to the previous purchaser! This one was DOA, as well. Took a while to get an acknowledgement from TF helpdesk. I was not happy with the idea I would have to PAY to ship the DOA units back at about $35 each!
Finally, after sending a copy of the RMA email (and the previous customer's information that was included!) TF offered to exchange them both. Said they would send shipping information for the returns, and would process the replacement order asap. Two weeks later, nada... Another week and another email, they sent prepaid shipping labels for UPS. Went out and dropped them at the local UPS store. Waited. Another email a week later, and finally they sent a notice that they were having trouble getting replacements in. So they simply did a refund. However, rather than simply REVERSING the charge on my PayPal card, they sent a PAYMENT via PayPal, who then charged me a ~$6 fee to accept the funds!!! Not a great service there.
Otherwise, the forums are entertaining, to say the least! And all you Flingers out there are great, too!

I've only had good experiences with TF. My very first fling was a mystery cable box. I think it was supposed to be 30 cables for $30 or something like that. When it came it was a huge box, I wasn't shagged and I didn't count, but there had to be more than 30 cables. And the two HDMI cables alone in there were worth at least $30.
Then there were some more flings.. then the infamous $9.99 MBs. I never had a problem with it really. I only bought 3 of them. I could understand getting upset if I would have gotten 12 of them like some people, but I also think they've done a lot to make up for that whole thing.
Then more recently, there was another MB that I ordered which apparently was supposed to have a pillow in it. Mine didn't have the pillow. I assumed it was filler and never gave it a second thought, but the court must have read the "What did you get?" forum when I listed the contents of my box because it showed up in the mail a few weeks later. It was a great surprise as I never submitted a help ticket or complained. I think it's really cool that they read the forums and act on things they read.
Speaking of the forums, that's probably one of the best parts of TF, The TF community. Lots of cool people all bound by our addiction. And like I said the Court reads and responds to the forums not only in posts, but they've sent fans to one member having a baby, and more recently some stuff and a card to a member recovering from surgery.
Thanks, TF. Keep it up!

I've had a real good experience with TF so far, my first fling was the 3.77mb, and I got shagged on that one, so it started great from there My next fling was the 9.99mb, which was good too, the cell lights were a bit much, but I was one of the few people who still uses an original xbox (along with my 360), so the surge protector was a welcomed bonus, and the most recent $31mb was great, i love the headphones and get plenty of use out of them, and my mom was crazy over the thermometer. The fact that the staff really went the extra mile to make things right with the 9.99mb was a huge plus in my book. Being one of the few who didn't really complain, i didn't expect much from TF.. Afterall, it's just a grab bag like so many other sites... you get what you get, if you don't like it, don't buy it.. the fact that TF went so far to make it right in those who felt wronged was a really nice touch.. If I have one complaint, it was just the shipping times were a bit rough on the first two orders...We're talking about 14-15 day wait between order, and being shipped from the TF warehouse... that's a bit excessive. However, the $31mb was fairly quick is being shipped for me, as it only took 3 days from order to being shipped. So hopefully those issues have been resolved somewhat
