2nd Screwdriver set Options

Just got my leftover mystery box and inside was another screwdriver set with the We owe you one letter. I already received one of these on its own in a separate package about a week ago. I appreciate the trouble that thinfling has gone through to correct its 9.99 MB error - but I would like to get something new and improved!!Wink Wink Wink

Boy, people here sure are unappreciative! ( Not just you OP. ) You all DO understand that these people don't HAVE to give you ANY extras. Even my 2 and 4 year old children know the ONLY response when getting a gift is a sincere " Thank You. " They would NEVER question the giver and express disappointment that they didn't get something else. These are GIFTS people! You are not entitled to anything. If it is not something you need or a duplicate, Pay It Forward. Just stop complaining and appreciate what you did get.

Dont look a gift horse in the mouth. A gift is a gift regardless of what the gift actually is. I didnt get any screwdriver set...you have two....what a bother.d'oh!

Boy....anytime people open their mouths around here, there's somebody just waiting to jump down their throat.

I really wish people would stop drawing that silly false analogy between TF's efforts to correct a bad business decision and the way we behave as polite people in polite society. Of COURSE your kids would never question a gift. That's because they were brought up to understand that gifts are optional expressions of kindness from people who care about them, and we don't want to hurt someone's feelings by rejecting that expression. Or something to that effect.

Newsflash, people. The King/Queen/ etc. are not your friends. They are perfectly friendly, good people, but there is a difference between that and friendship. They are businesspeople, you are their customers. As such they have a genuine interest in keeping you around to buy more of their merchandise. Make no mistake - anything they give you has this ulterior motive behind it. And there's absolutely nothing evil or wrong about that. But it also does NOT demand the same level of courtesy that would be demanded by your friends bearing gifts.

If a business does something to drum up business or to encourage repeat business, you should be free to provide honest feedback on those promotional efforts. Be it, "hey, I loved that, and would like to see it again" to "hey, you know, it was a nice thought but it really doesn't do it for me. Such and such would have worked better for me." As a business owner myself, I can tell you that this is the ONLY way I will ever learn what is popular and what isn't. If people are afraid to provide honest feedback to me because they are afraid of hurting my feelings or are afraid that someone is going to jump down their throat, they are ultimately hurting both of us because I don't hear the feedback that I need to hear and they don't get what they want.

Ahhh..but Lady Fling DID send my cats treats and toys in one of my mystery boxes..I think that was a wonderful and thoughtful gesture..not to drum up business from me..they already have my business so that couldn't be the case. Sure they are business people and definately want to keep their customers which is why they're bending over backwards to make things right with everyone even if they're ok with the 9.99 MB...but you have to admit...sending my cats treats and toys???? They knew I have two cats..and they made sure they sent two of everything...including the different flavors of treats! That IS extra special and I definately don't belive there was any ulterior motive behind it! Very Happy

It's a bit appalling and disappointing to see that the two people (I've read about) who got doubled dipped on the We Owe Ya one campaign (and I will assume it was just a stroke of good luck to get two, just an error, unless I see everyone getting two) quibble about the sincerity of this give back. It is clearly stated as policy that a MB is a MB, and there will be no refunds or returns. So despite the harsh criticism of the infamous box, TF was under no contractual obligation to "make it right"--yet they did. First by issuing coupons, which I believe was good enough for most people as a return gesture, but they went beyond that by sending gift items--and how can you not define them as gifts? You did not pay for these items directly, there was no contract that TF had to send you these items, but they did. You can argue all you want that it is just a business making a good business decision to improve relations with their customers for a blunder they made--and sure it is that as well. But frankly how many other companies have you ever dealt with who went to such extreme lengths to satiate and please their customers with give back gifts? The only I can ever recall in my experience were small little local businesses--and that is really the driving force behind TFs success. They have grown into quite a big name, yet they still have manage to operate and behave as if they're just the little privately owned general store on the corner.

I don't particularly see people jumping down others throats. In this particular case I see someone reacting to the greedy mentality that tends to run amuck around here--it's this gimmy gimmy gimmy thought process that will eventually bleed a company like thingfling (who is actually trying to listen to their customers) dry. It's true you know, give an inch... etc etc

Laughing Laughing The "gimme, gimme, gimme" thought process is what TF counts on to sell things. Nothing wrong with that, but how could that possibly "bleed TF dry"?

I sure am sorry I pointed out the double gifts! I WAS being appreciative... I was curoius if anyone else had received the doubles, or just me. There was another order also enclosed within the MB, so I did not know what to associate the screwdriver double with... I did mention I appreciate their attempt(s) to correct the 9.99 MB error. I wish people would not jump down my throat just trying to get information. This was only my 3rd post to the forum, and I thought from what I understood, that sometimes if you ask TF sometimes shags you on future orders. But, I guess I will just read and not post again if this is the response I get.

So to sum up your statement, you commented on getting doubles to get information on whether or not other people got 2 sets, yet:

-you still call their gifts mere "attempts" indicating you still aren't happy
-you ADMIT (I think.. the grammar is off) you were just posting to get additional shag.

So people got upset at you because they thought you weren't being appreciative and that you were just being greedy... and you proved it by saying you posted to get shag, and that if people aren't going to be nice to you EVEN THOUGH you are being ungrateful and greedy... then you will just read and not post.

Why are you shocked?

And seriously, if your just posting to get shag, continue reading. Post if you have something to say that is either constructive, or not negative.

I'm thinking the posts here were intended for GodaiNoBaka's comment moreso than yours. I Know mine was...I did notice your little "winky" smiles at the end of your post and had a feeling you weren't meaning to complain..but wasn't 100% sure what you meant so I didnt' comment.

OH..as for the double screwdriver sets...no..I didnt' get doubles...funny..at the time of your post..I didn't even get one yet..I got mine the other day with my last MB and the letter from the King Smile

You can never have too many screwdrivers...or tools! Especially here where every time my father comes to visit..some of my tools mysteriously dissapear! You have no idea how many pruning clippers, shovels and weed wackers I've had to replace over the years! Rolling Eyes

Speaking of Weed Wackers...I wonder if TF will ever come up with one...I could use another cordless one...I can't find mine..again!! Doubt
