And if you ever come across a post with me cussing out doctors...don't take it personally. I've seen more doctors then I want to since my son was hurt in a car accident and I can't stand most of them. Just so you know...it's not you. I know there are a very select few good doctors out there! I've only been a doctor (officially) for about a month, but I've been treating patients and managing their care for a while now. The main difference now is that I have a DEA number (I can prescribe drugs). As far as there being a very select few good doctors.. It really seems to me to be more about what kind of doctor you're talking about. Your son being in a car accident, you probably dealt mostly with ER doctors and surgeons. In general those are the two fields that have the most @$$holes. But like you said there are a select few AWESOME surgeons and ER docs, but most are not the best when it comes to communication and bedside manor. Having said all that, if you look at family practice doctors, pediatricians, OB/GYN doctors, most of them are really cool people and really care about their patients and it shows. The worst part of all that is that people have to deal with the not-as-nice doctors in the most stressful situations. So you're already upset and the worst thing in a situation like that is having the person taking care of your loved one to seem like they don't care, and not tell you what's going on. I've seen this a lot as a medical student and spent a lot of time following after surgeons and ER docs, staying with patients and families to explain things and answer questions. So I totally understand where you're coming from, and I'm sorry you had such a crappy experience. How's your son? He's doing great now, thanks He's quite the little miracle!

someone caught me on my last post...I had wrote the story about my son and then deleted it. I wasn't sure if anyone would care to know the story or not...anyway, here it is:
He is doing fantastic now. It took us a while to get him healthy, a lot of firing doctors and going with our gut intuition rather then drugging him up on all sorts of medicine. We have had a very slim amount of great doctors, as I said, that have stuck with us and supported us through this all. The two main ones being his former pediatrician(she moved and we could not travel to her office) and his ENT that found his tracheal stinosis. I owe him with saving his life, while all the other doctors continuously passed it off as croup(he was having strydor). If you want to know the whole story, I was turning left at an intersection at a "yellow" left turn arrow. The light in the opposite direction turned green before I finished my turn. A tow truck failed to see me and stop in time, and hit me at 45 mph. It crushed my car in half, with my son on that side. He was 2 years old then. His door crushed around his car seat, and sliced his face open from his hair line, down around his eye and onto his cheek. It fractured his skull underneath. He suffered brain swelling and seizures following. He also had a C1 fracture of his spine, and 2 jaw breaks. One of which had to be wired together. The other they left alone. He lost most of his speech, and was very dizzy for a long time, and couldn't walk well. He was in the hospital for 2 weeks the first time, then he started having the strydor and stopped breathing twice before his ENT found the tracheal stinosis(scar tissue from his breathing tube that he had for a week after the accident. The scar tissue builds up and covers the airway, limiting and sometimes stopping air flow) when he removed the wire from his jaw(my son almost stopped breathing again during the procedure). So once he went through 5 surgeries for that, then 4 plastic surgeries, he is now doing wonderful. He is in honor classes at his school and is a straight A student. He's my little miracle.

I am a professional coffee drinker with a mostly fiction writing problem. When I'm tired of being broke, I run a terribly executed web business and sell random things that aren't screwed down around the house on ebay.

I am a web designer for a very large internet company. Our presence is quite popular with the young kids these days, and you could find our website on billboards, cd covers, blogs, etc. I've scoured this website for a link to the company I work for, but to no avail. I basically take the direction of major companies and create a web presence for them that's demographically targeted to end users of the advertisers' desires. I've worked with companies such as: Apple, Sony, Disney, All major film studios, Coca Cola, Dodge, Honda, well, the list goes on and on. On my offtime, I am a lifecaster. I broadcast my life live on Justin.tv so that I could share a bit of it with others. I currently cast from work and on special occasions, but am gearing up towards becoming a 24/7 lifecaster. If you would like a link, please PM me and I'll be more than happy to share it with you. I am also the director of marketing for a non-profit organization to support the homeless. Blanket-A-Human is the name of my charity, and we help bring awareness to the homelessness problems amongst youth and pro-actively find ways to bring this social awareness to them. This includes throwing charity benefits, hosting blanket passouts, and providing aide to families who are in need of our services. I am also working on a project that is developing the next tourist destination in Belize; we have purchased an island and are building a mega-resort, hotels, bungalows, living quarters, hospital, airport, etc. The project should be completed by next year, and I personally invite all of you to join me in the celebration when we officially launch the hotspot. I am what you would call a Jack of all trades. I like to get my hands dirty with a lot of projects, and keep myself active. It can be quite overwhelming at times, but overall, I'm extremely happy with the outcome. Thing Fling Purchases: 1. Bluetooth Stereo Receiver 2 & 3. $12 Mystery Bag 4. Digital Body Fat/Hydration Monitor Scale 5. Leftover Mystery Box Part IV

I'm a criminal analyst. It really sounds more interesting than it is. I've gotten to do some cool things, but spend most of my time in the corner of a basement doing background investigations for the governor's office. I'm also a freelance photographer/consultant type. Working on a case now for a lady that's a little insane, but will be something to tell my brother and sister's kids in 30 years. r Lemon Curry?

r Oh I hope you've never seen my name before Oh yeah, I'm also a photographer. How could I forget that? That's my favorite hobby. I almost made the mistake of turning it into a profession, but I enjoy it more as a hobby.
