scaredwitless, thanks for talking me into one.

I'm very pleased with the product. I'm most impressed with the light itself. From the photos, I thought that the light would be a cheesy LED like light, but the light has a very soft glow to it that is most pleasing to the eye. My child is very excited about the weather forecasting feature and has already memorized what the colors mean and checks several times a day. Much better build quality than expected. I thought it would be flimsy, but it's not. Highly recommended if you're looking for a weather forecaster. Not 100% accurate, but then again, since when has the weather service been accurate?
"First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then flingest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

Glad you and your child are enjoying yours, TNT. Yes the build quality is quite good, it was another thing I was surprised about. For thingflings price I think it's a great little clock. I still have the second one I picked up that I haven't decided what to do with yet. I may end up giving it to my 5 year old niece, as I think she'd enjoy the weather forecasting color thing as well, and it encourages a bit of thinking and being mindful about the weather and all that.

For the record, I have this clock. My hubby was fussing this morning that the alarm didn't go off. Well, while reading this message board, it went off....(turns out it was set for pm). It starts off kind of low and gets really LOUD and really annoying!

I wanted to jump in and note that ThingFling has great customer service.

One of these clocks that I recently purchased was missing its power cord when I opened it. ThingFling found another one and shipped it out to me, and it works perfectly.

Way to go, TF...Dancing

I just want to say that my clock, this one, is still in use, and still working great, I've had no problems with it and stil ove it. If I weren't saving my 5 off coupon for possibly the third xmas mystery box, I'd jump on this for a kiler price. then I would have three all together.... wouldn't really need it, but it's just that great of a product.

Here's the part I don't like:

scaredwitless wrote:

Now for the very nice things abotu the clock that surprised me: The LCD has a green blacklight---it is not lit all the time, and can be activated by touching the "snooze button" area for about 5 seconds.

Does this mean that if I wake up in the middle of the night and want to know what time it is, that I'll have to touch the "snooze button" for 5 seconds first? If the backlight is not lit all the time, I guess that would be the case, but I'm hoping I'm mis-reading something.

I don't want to have to reach out and touch the clock in the middle of the night to see what time it is.

Hello friend,

When I wrote that review the little manual was still fresh on my mind. beleive it stated touch for 5 seconds, but in the real world I'd say it's actually half a second. Big difference. It is true the backlight is off until you touch it, but the "snooze button" remember is the entire top half of the clock. You don't need precision aim.

The reviews on this look great! Does anyone know how cold it can get with the remote sensor? I have seen some that say not to have outside below a certain temp.
Thanks!

I ordered 2 last week. They are holed up in UPS hell so I don't know when they'll come. I'm hoping they're as great as the reports because they'd make great gifts for the future.

Hello! I no longer no where the little manual sheet is for my clock, so I can't give you exact numbers, but as I recall the limniing factor here is moe the batteries. I.e. Alkalines will work to a certain temp and below that they';; nfreeze and therefore not work. The manual suggested if you need lower temps to use lithium batteries instead because they have a much lower freezing point. So I think if you look up Alkaline's freezing temperature and Lithium freezing temperature, you will find the lower range of temp you can go. I vaguely remember them suggesting not to ue rechargeables at all. For what it's worth my sensor is still using the same set of batteries with no signs of them running low.

Scared you are the master! Never even thought of that. I just wish that I would have read the comments earlier on. I saw last night that there were in the line-up to come up again, but if it did I missed it. I have two nieces that would absolutely love this in their room! Thanks for all the helpful feedback, and happy holidays!
