Just a minor correction to thingfling's description: 800x600 is Super-VGA (SVGA) resolution, not VGA resolution (640x480). The product leaflet on this webcame says the SVGA resolution is the interpolated resolution, while the sensor is actually natively VGA.

One point of interest in my opinion, is that though this cam ALSO includes a headset, the cam itself actually has its own built in digital microphone as well. Which is nice if you don't always want to be wearing a headset while chatting with people.

My pleasure.

Good lord, my first post, and I already got to speak to the queen! (star-struck Shock )

(Did I forget to mention that thingfling has, in no time, become my favorite deals site? No? Well that's probably because I'm always too busy clicking the refresh button Dancing )

I ordered this a few days ago and the package arrived today.

But instead of the 701NC I got a 611NC which is a Laptop Webcam and not the same camera and no headset either Sad

I put in a helpdesk ticket, hopefully I will hear something soon. Confused

I got my replacement and got it all hooked up.. The face tracking was not what I thought it was going to be and it doesnt really do much.

The quality itself is ok and is about as compareable as my 5 year old intel it was replacing..

Good price for what seems to be a decent cam.

I'm stuck with an older system, USB is 1.something, and I have Win2KPro. Will this work with my system? Are there any caveats I should know about? I mean, other than the one where you tell me I need to upgrade my system. Smile

30fps isn't even remotely possible with these Phillips webcams. I have one and they are extremely choppy on a fast system. Don't expect too much.
