Built-in laptop speakers are pretty under whelming and that is just a fact of life. Sure, they are good for a beep here and ping there, but if you have ever tried to share your favorite song, watch a movie, or make a multimedia presentation using your laptop speakers, you know exactly what we mean.

Introducing the Altec Lansing XT1 system. Innovative design with removable stands, the XT1 delivers superb sound and surprisingly deep bass thanks to four full-range neodymium micro drivers and bass enhancement technology. And just like your laptop, the XT1 knows how to travel light. Because it is USB-powered, there is no need for a power supply and no batteries to forget. Plug it into your USB port, press play, and you will be listening to the best portable sound you have ever heard from a laptop. Pack it up in its deluxe carrying case, and you are ready for your next trip. Slim, portable design Flat panel, shielded satellites with removable stands pack easily and go anywhere. USB-Powered Connects easily to laptops and desktops via retractable USB cable. No power supply needed!

Big Sound for Laptops. Four specially engineered full-range neodymium micro drivers with aluminum cones smoothly deliver a full spectrum of pure, distinct sound with unprecedented signal accuracy.

The lowest retail price found was on E-bay with one piece available for $59.99. For more pieces the next price was $65.00 (not including shipping). At THING FLING you pay LESS THAN 50% of the lowest retail price. That's ridiculous!!

An included travel case would be nice . . . Other sites indicate that you would get a case if you bought it new. Here as a refurb? I don't see why not, but . . .

"Pack it up in its deluxe carrying case, and you are ready for your next trip. "

I would think this means the case is included.

Picked up a pair for work. Better than my crappy laptop speakers for sure and the price is right.

I read the reviews on these and the inMotions 5 and 9 that TF has had. If Bass is important the InMotion 9 is your best bet. But you need a bit of distance for stereo and depth so I went with these.
These got great reviews for sonic accuracy at their original prices. At 25$ I believe it's a steal. Now that I have 3 computers in my home (1 Mac laptop, 1 PC, and an iMac) extra speakers are good!

Thanks ThingFling!

Wow, I was impressed. I was not expecting much bass at all, but for what they are, they have a great sound. They are a great improvement over the built in laptop speakers. It has a nice carrying case too. Definitely worth the price. Thanks THING FLING!!!

Thinking about getting these, but have a question. If I want to connect to just my mp3 player, I see it has a 3.5mm input, but it says powered by usb. Does it have to be plugged into usb for power even if I just want to use it with my mp3? Thanks.

Well, just found a review that said they require usb for power. Next question is what does the usb plug on them look like? I am thinking if it is a mini usb i can use the wall charger from my moto phone to power them if i wanted to use them in the garage or anywhere away from a pc.

I bought some of these a while back. Their only source of power is the usb.

I found this most funny. Thingfling's are refurbished while those are new. I don't think you can compare that.

And I found these speakers are on sale on newegg for 42.99 with free shipping and they're new.

Sorry TF, got to pass.

I got the refurb XT2's about 6 months ago. I wonder if TF has plans to sell more of them. They produce really nice sound, with adjustable bass and treble. Power is DC, not USB. If the XT2's come around again, I'd definitely buy more.
