It should, the manufacturer's website says it supports RW and the fact that it opens on top should let it play the mini format.
"First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then flingest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

You've got to love the troubleshooting page in the manual on the Auvi website for this product.

Problem: AC Power doesn't work.
AC power cord is not connected.
Recommend: Connect AC power cord

Problem: No sound
The unit is not turned on.
Recommend: Turn on the unit.

It DOES have some useful tips, but these cracked me up.

I bought one, even though I know this brand is horrible. But what boom box doesn't sound like crap? This will be ok by the pool.

The ticket is the way to go. It can take a couple of days to get a response lately since I believe a lot of people are opening tickets with minor inquiries like 'when's my item going to ship since I can't see it on my flings any more' that all need to be responded to. Between that, lots of items to ship, and some issues in their warehouse that I read about elsewhere (i.e. a broken elevator), I think things are a little hectic at the ThingFling Royal Palace.

I'd suggest giving them at least 3 business days (and remember that Monday was officially a holiday for many)

Dancing Whistle I just recieved this cd/radio today from the last time it was on TF.
It has a nice sound to it and I turned it up loud to make sure. Picked up radio signals very well, and in my location..that is a hard thing to do. Sorry I did not get two at

The company AUVI is no longer in business, which is why this radio is so cheap. Also, there is no warranty. So, if its broke or you recieve a broken one, you are out of luck.

Shame on you

I bought three and got one defective unit. I called AUVI and the phone is disconnected. I sent an email to ThingFling and I am waiting to find out what they are going to do. Anyone else ever tried to get ThingFling to replace defective product if the manufacturer is out of business?

I know with most of these portable stereos the sound is not nearly as loud when it is run on batteries. Has anybody tried using this item both plugged in and with battery power? I am needing a new one to use this summer at camp when we are on the bus. Since the bus is quite old, there is no stereo and no AC. Our AC is having all of the windows open, so I need a stereo that will be pretty loud when run on battery power. If anyone has used this stereo both ways, please let me know how it sounded.

thanks

Hi All,

Just my 2 cents. I still don't know if it is worth 15 bucks. It gets radio signals very well but the sound is 2 out of 10 on both FM and CD. If you listen to talk radio it would fit the bill very nicely, but for music is it sub-par. I bought it for my workshop and sound quality was not at the top of my priority list but I'm on the fence if it was woprth 15 bucks. It has a smal footprint and turns on, so I guess it meets my needs. The CD player brings no better sound quality which I found a bit odd. If sound quality is not high on your priority then you should be somewhat satisfied with it. I have mine hooked up with battery power, maybe it will sound better plugging it in... but I think I'm dreaming on that one! Mark
