How about a set of Jenson Noise Canceling headphones for under 10 bucks delivered to your door? The cheapest I have seen these on the internet are for $22.00 plus $8.00 shipping, or a cost to you of $30.00 or more.
They block background noise up to -15db. Great for plane, train, bus or ever home. These headphones are even equipped with lights which illuminate to show that the background noise is being eliminated. Best of all unlike other noise canceling headphones, these are lightweight, adjustable and not bulky. Comes with an airplane adapter.

"First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then flingest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it." -Thing Fling's Cable AMB review -How to choose an HDTV (A Step by Step guide)

I have a question.
Can i use these at a Starbucks or something just to block out noise WITHOUT connecting it to a music source just so I can study better.
Thanks in advance

How can they be delivered to my door for under $10 when you charge $6 shipping and it's the first item of the day? EDIT: Available from a seller on Amazon for $9.69 plus $4.99 shipping. Probably wouldn't take two-three weeks to ship either. 20 Flings Flung!

Will TF ever decide if "Delivered to your door" means with shipping or without shipping? It seems like they will just choose randomly.

Yet again we have to ask for clarification...'Delivered to your door for less than $10.00' So King, Queen, Lady, Shaggy and/ or Code which is it... delivered to our door for $9.99 or delivered to our doors for $9.99+ $6.00 shipping "I reject your reality and substitute my own" - Adam Savage, Mythbusters Flings Flung: 40 total orders- Regular items- 22 Orders, 40 items; MB/AMB- 16 orders, 23 MBs/AMBs; 2 Canceled( 1 voluntary, 1 bad batch of Batteries w/ Chargers) In 9 months of Flings I have already surpassed my purchases of almost 2yrs on that other DOD site where it's nearly impossible to get their mystery 'bag'... lol ~~Jinx

If they operate anything like the noise cancelling headphones I have the answer to your question is yes. They won't give you total silence, but they will cut down on the amount of noise you hear, regardless of whether or not you are listening to anything. And, even though it's been pointed out several times already but was, after all, my reason for stopping by this thread: It's been a while since I had any math classes, but I'm pretty sure that $15.99 is not less than $10.00. Oh! Maybe it's a typo! That's probably what happened, they just forgot the 9. I am pretty sure that $15.99 is less than $910.00. I'll have to double check my math, but I'm sure that's what happened. Whew! Mystery solved.
